Debby Young fondly recalls growing up at Wally and Liz Young’s Whananaki Store, a “rabbit warren” packed with everything locals and tourists could need. From fishing rods to milkshakes, the store sparked her childhood dream of working in a shop.
“Wally and Liz had everyone sorted,” she says. Their store inspired the name of her own Whananaki General Store, a promise to customers that everything they need is under one roof.
